OUR STORY

We entered the agriculture sector in 2016 immediately identifying how farmers still develop orchards in the traditional manner. With great respect said, we realised that the traditional manner got us this far, but we also realised that we have lost half of our topsoil in the last 150 years due to erosion and mismanagement of soil and that farmers were only farming on non-complex flat terrain.
With little orchard development experience we started exploring avenues for developing orchards with technology, whilst having ecology as the core.
Fast forward to 2021 and here we are, more than 1,000ha non-complex and complex orchard development, precision stake out with high tech equipment, high resolution irrigation maps, soil and water monitoring, micro-climate monitoring and finally bee farming with precision bee placement and activity monitoring.
We have come to realise "to seize the opportunity by considering possibilities and linking complex ideas through systems thinking in simple, understandable ways".
We are proudly South African and as young pioneers we wish to say that we do not have all the answers, but am willing to find them as we work with you.

"A place where ecology, technology and agriculture meet"

Why

Everything we do, we do in order to create a connected environment. We believe in an opportunity for change.

What

We use technology to acquire, monitor and manage aspects associated with agricultural production systems and link this with ecological principles.

How

We seize this opportunity by considering possibilities and linking complex ideas through systems thinking in simple understandable ways.

Orchard design and development

We model complex terrain parameters to assist in linking agricultural production to the underlying ecological processes occurring on your farm. This along with environmental monitoring data, is used in the planning, designing and long term monitoring of orchards.

Environmental monitoring

We make use of scientific grade temperature and humidity sensors for modelling micro-climates on your farm to assist in the planning and design of orchards as well as long term monitoring.

Llwelyn Coertzen

Chief Impact Officer

A dreamer and a visionary, but most importantly, a world leading environmentalist who focuses on returning ecology and sustainability into modern day farming. Basically without Llwelyn, we would just be another ordinary agri-business.

Ebbie Swart

High - Tech Anthropologist

Let’s state it this way, Ebbie makes sure we are solving the right problems. From a design and programming background, Ebbie enjoys solving problems with farmers using technology. If you're agri-tech illiterate, talk to him.

Lourens Jooste

Chief Dust & Dirt Commander

As an Avocado farmer, Lourens is a nonconformist. Passionate about making new friends, farming, technology and ecology. He enjoys the challenge of taking the 3D orchard designs and translating them into finely designed orchards.
